Microsoft Joins HPSF as Premier Member

The High Performance Software Foundation (HPSF), part of the nonprofit Linux Foundation and a neutral home for high-performance software, is excited to welcome Microsoft as a premier member.

Microsoft, a global leader in technology, has been at the forefront of high-performance computing (HPC) and open source software development. Their commitment to advancing the state of software for performance portability aligns with HPSF’s mission to support open source software that builds trust, longevity, and sustainability.

“At Microsoft, we are committed to advancing high-performance software and strengthening the open source ecosystem that powers it,” said Joe Greenseid, Principal Product Manager, Microsoft. “Open source software is essential to the success of Microsoft and our customers, and joining HPSF ensures we can collaborate more deeply with the community, share our expertise, and accelerate innovation for HPC.”

As a premier member of HPSF, Microsoft will:

  • Join the HPSF Governing Board and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
  • Help shape the direction of HPSF projects and priorities
  • Support alignment with broader HPC industry needs
  • Contribute to building a strong foundation for portable, high-performance software

“We’re thrilled to welcome Microsoft to HPSF,” said Todd Gamblin, HPSF Governing Board Chair. “Their membership deepens the foundation’s collaboration with the broader cloud ecosystem and accelerates our mission to support open-source HPC at scale.”
